Location:
At the western end of the north coastline of Prinsep
Island.
Average
depth: 18m (60ft) Maximum depth: 32m (106ft)
Above
water this formidable rocky karst conjures up
all sorts of images of what to expect in the
depths below.
This
is primarily a wall dive, although there are
scattered rocks worth exploring away from the
wall itself, frequented by more than a few large
Black and Whitetip Sharks.
The
wall itself features small green branch corals,
with lots of holes and crags forming protective
lairs for crayfish and other small invertebrate.
Solitary juvenile Blue ring and Emporer angelfish
can be seen fluttering around.
There
can be a lot of wave action here and the roar
of the water crashing into the caverns and caves
above the surface echoes around the site.
