New !
Dendro's Peak
|
We
found this site towards the end of
the season 06/07
and named it "Dendro's Peak"!
Why the
Name? it is covered with the mainly
red variety of the soft coral species
Dendronestia sprinkled with orange
and
white gorgonian seafans. Underwater pinnacle
with the top starting in 15m
depth featuring a straight
down to 45m wall and a gentle slope
on the other site to 25m ending
in sandy bottom.
Conditions:
we had the pleasure to dive it
twice after discovery so it is
too early to say if the conditions
encountered are always like that,
in any case visibility was 25 m,
currents vary in strenght.
What
we saw so far left an impression
of 'this is too much to take it
all in". Among the species we
have seen, Grey reef sharks, Marble
rays, Eagle
rays,
Leopard sharks, schools of Chevron
Barracudas, big Jackfish,
big
sized red snappers, Gostpipefish,
Harleqiuen shrimps to name a few.
The crew
and guests of MV Faah Yai will
surely have a lot more to say about
this site during the coming high
season.
here
are some pictures to enjoy
