Rock

|
Location:
At the western end of the north coastline
of Prinsep Island.
Above
water this formidable rocky karst conjures
up all sorts of images of what to expect
in the depths below.
This
is a place of many dive sites (9 in
total) the rock itself is primarily
a wall dive, although there are scattered
rocks
worth exploring
away from the wall, frequented
by more than a few Whitetip Sharks,
blotched, jenkins and devil rays (mobular
rays).
The
wall itself features small green branch
corals, with lots of holes and crags
forming protective lairs for crayfish
and other small invertebrate.
Solitary
juvenile Blue ring and Emperor Angelfish
can be seen fluttering around. There
can be a lot of wave action here and
the roar of the water crashing into
the caverns and caves above the surface
echoes around the site.
